Cuatro by Francis Chouquet: thanks, ILoveTypography

Sometimes, it’s good to tap stuff.

For example, I tapped ILoveTypography’s story on IG a couple of hours ago and saw a font I immediately fell in love with. The name of that font?

Papyrus.

PSYCH.

Actually, it was Cuatro by Francis Choqouet. Funnily enough, I just posted my favorite display fonts for 2022 list last night, and Cuatro definitely deserves a spot on there. Am I going to go back and add it? Of course I won’t, but that doesn’t mean I won’t post about it.

Cuatro is a… serif? I guess it is. Or maybe it’s not. I have no idea. Are the flared parts of the letterforms serifs? Probably not. Anyway. Don’t care: this is an all-caps font that looks especially funky and retro and summery, and it’s perfect for packaging. It only comes in one weight, and it has no italics (they wouldn’t make much sense, truth be told) but it’s a such a nice, distinctive little font that it’s definitely worth a look.

You can get Cuatro HERE for $19 at the time of writing.
