My Favorite Script Font: Bushcraft

I don’t think a day goes by that I don’t mention my disdain for script fonts. I think it stems from the multitude of low-effort ‘98% OFF 30 PROFESSIONAL FONTS’ packs out there, that are filled with interchangeable script typefaces that even their designers probably won’t be able to distinguish from each other. I don’t blame them; I too can’t tell my turds from each other.

That’s not to say that there aren’t amazing script fonts out there. One of my absolute favorites is Bayshore, an eighties-inspired wonder that I’ve used on the covers for my Quantum Heart Trilogy of sci-fi novels.

However, if you asked me which script font is my favorite favorite, I’d have to say it’s Cultivated Mind’s Bushcraft.

Bushcraft is the ultimate hipster typeface. You can use it for your northern California pale ale brewery, your Minnesotan indie coffee roaster, your homecrafted winter clothing brand or your wanderlusty Instagram posts.

In addition to having the coolest, most organically-flowing script characters I’ve ever witnessed in five weights, it also has a sans variant and some amazing fonts that contain doodles related to cabins, nature and plants as well as some rather amazing flourishes and shapes for badges.

It’s truly an amazingly well-rounded collection.

Of course such flexibility doesn’t always come cheap, and Bushcraft is a bit more expensive than the typefaces I usually mention, at slightly over $100.

But bear in mind that I created the following design in literally 3 minutes:
