Brand-new, right out of the oven free display font: Hyrbo by Dom Rowland

Your favorite web font crawler, i.e. me, has sniffed out another stunner that was just released!

This one is called Hybro and it’s the work of a Dom Rowland, which would make for an awesome rock star name. Oh, well, maybe in another life, Dom!

Hybro is a very distinctive display typeface, which means that it will definitely make your design(s) stand out. This distinctiveness, unfortunately, has the side-effect of lowered legibility, with some of the lowercase characters being particularly guilty of it.

Do I care? NO! One of my all-time favorites, Origamic, has a similar problem and I still have to stop myself from stroking its hair and whispering sweet nothings into its ear (Did you know that fonts have ears? read my book ‘Clothes for Language’ for even more intensely interesting nuggets of info. “Nice plug,” he said to himself) daily.

Here are a quick design I threw together right after having a cup of coffee and just before visiting the toilet. For some reason, Gravit Designer on my Chromebook, just for tonight, won’t save the goddamn designs into PNGs or JPEGs, so I’ve found myself into the ridiculous situation of having to post a photo of my fucking screen for you to see.

Sorry.

You can download Hyrbo HERE for FREE, for both personal and commercial use. Thanks, Dom!
