A temporary change in our schedule.

I don’t usually mention this, but I’m a full-time dentist/oral surgeon, which leaves precious little time for working on The Daily Typographic. However, I try to never miss a day and, so far at least, I’ve been successfully posting a blog post per day without fail.

Well, the times they are a-changin’ as my granddad Bob Dylan used to say (OK, he’s not really my granddad) and I have to change with them.

As the deadline for submitting my manuscript for the third novel in the Quantum Heart trilogy approaches, I have to reconsider the daily post format. I’m definitely not quitting; you’re still getting your daily post, but it’s going to be in a different format, until December 3rd, 2020, when I’m supposed to deliver the final manuscript to the Amazon gods.

So, what are the changes going to be? First of all, I won’t be making my daily 5-minute designs for now. Instead, I’ll just be posting a typeface from my MyFonts and Creative Market wishlists for you to check out.

Those 5-minute designs take way more time to post if you take into account the time it takes to purchase and download the font, boot up my vector graphics software, export the design, post the image on the blog, share it on Instagram with the appropriate hashtags and finish my day with a stiff drink. In fact, the easiest part of the process (and the most satisfying) is creating the design itself.

Secondly, since I won’t be creating any new designs until December 3rd, I will be changing the Instagram post format too. Instead of posting the daily design, I will be posting photos of nice typography-related designs I find in the wild.

That’s all for now, folks!
