Welcome to The Daily Typographic.

If you’re thinking “Bleh, not another site about typography!”, stop it this instant.

First of all, there aren’t that many sites devoted to typography to begin with. If you take away the relative incumbents such as Typewolf and The League Of Movable Type, what you are left with is a bunch of graphic design general-interest sites, like Creative Bloq, Dribble, etc. Not that there’s anything wrong with those—I’m a frequent visitor too. It’s just that I’m still trying to justify the existence of The Daily Typographic and you’re still reading, which is good.

Since you’re reading this intro, you’re probably one of my first readers, which is amazing but it may also make you wonder what this website is going to be all about. Sure, type, but how will it work?

Well, as the name of the site implies, I’ll be posting daily during the week and sometimes even during the weekend and maybe even during the week that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is released. We’ll see how that goes.

These posts will range from hate-filled, expletive-laden rants about the overuse of the ampersand to slow, contemplative meditations on the effect of type on modern urban centers. But, yeah, probably more of the former and less of the latter.

I’ll also be posting about new typefaces that either excite me or make me want to scratch my eyes out.

The site is obviously free for anyone to visit. Anyone, that is, but Tom Cruise.

See you around,

Antonis.
