atipo foundry 10th anniversary bundle alert!

Warning: this is not a sponsored post, I’m just fanboying hard.

We interrupt the normal flow of this program to bring you news of immense import: atipo foundry, my favorite foundry in the whole wide realm, has released the font bundle to end all font bundles to celebrate their tenth anniversary.

The bundle includes all of the fonts they have released so far, and there are some absolute gems in there.

Avid readers of this blog (of which there is at least one, according to analytics) may remembering me mentioning atipo foundry before. That’s because they are the people responsible for Calendas Plus, the #1 selection in my round up of the best free serif fonts in 2020.

Here are my four favorite typefaces included in the collection to whet your appetite.

#1: Bariol

This is what I said about Bariol in a post of mine from 2017:

Bariol, oh Bariol, how you’ve stolen my heart! Since I discovered Bariol, I’ve used it in almost every project I’ve worked on.

In fact, I’m so in love with Bariol that I think that my next project should simply be an app called “Bariol”, which will only have a splash screen saying “Bariol” in Bariol. That will be the whole thing.

[…]

What if I told you that Bariol also has a hot stepsister called Bariol Serif? Yup.

Bariol is really cheap. In fact, it’s as cheap as you want it to be, since it’s “pay what you want”. If you’re a total asshole slash cheapskate, you can also get the regular and italic styles for free by tweeting about it.

#2: Geomanist

Geomanist is a breathtaking geometric sans-serif typeface that will take your breath away. Wait, have I mentioned that it’s going to cause you to stop breathing? In a good way?

Geomanist comes in nine different weights with matching italics (that’s more weights than you’ll find at your local gym, probably) and it has nice, spacious counters and a slight humanist touch that softens the austere edges of its lineage.

#3: Cassanets Plus

Cassanets Plus is a modern take on Art Deco typefaces. There is a large number of Art Deco-influenced typefaces for you to choose out there, so why Cassanets, exactly?

What really gives Cassanets Plus its edge are the gorgeous ligatures and alternate glyphs you get with it. It’d be no exaggeration for me to say that you could create entire designs using just Cassanets and that it can quite likely cure a patient with Super AIDS. Okay, that second part is probably an exaggeration.

#4: Silka Mono

As a programmer, I’m always looking for new monospaced fonts to add to my IDE to avoid doing actual coding.

Silka Mono is probably my favorite monospaced font I’ve ever used to procrastinate. It has a sweetness about it that you don’t normally associate with monospaced fonts and it comes in multiple weights.

To summarize

If you don’t buy this bundle, you’re a poopyhead.
