CRT-64 by Darumo: the name gives it away!

Darumo Shop may just be my favorite vendor on Creative Market. I’ve used their The 80s Are Back pack to create all the covers for my Quantum Heart trilogy, and I recently purchased their Turbo System and New Era packs after making a pact with myself that I’d end up using them somewhere. I am currently trying to prevent myself from clicking Buy on their Happy Cartographer set too — it’s so goddamn cute!

Anyway. I’m not here to talk about a pack. I’m here to sing the praises of a font i found included in the Turbo System pack, called CRT-64.

That’s a bit of a misnomer: a cathode ray tube (CRT) is the tech used in old screens, like the TVs I grew up with, back when the grass was greener, the water was purer and sitting too close to the TV could turn you into a vigilante horseradish or some shit. However, the font is made up of tiny dots, referencing LCD and LED displays.

Now that I’m done being pedantic, let me show you my 5-minute design for today:

As you can see, the font will fit perfectly into any futuristic, dystopian or retro-futuristic context. It only comes in one weight and style, and it costs a very affordable $9.

Get it HERE! And, if you have some free time, browse through Darumo’s shop. It truly is a wondrous place.
