Margaret: Sometimes, you can’t beat a classy serif.
Jacper Janusiak’s Margaret is gorgeous.
I know I keep using the G-word, but would I really be posting about fonts that weren’t gorgeous?
A single-weight, single-style font (bold, no italics) with lots of special characters and ligatures you wouldn’t expect to find in a free font, this is a GO GET IT NOW! kind of situation.
Without wanting to appear ungrateful, I have to say this: body text set in this font looks so good that it’s an absolute shame there are no extra weights with matching italics. You can still use this font for logos and setting a small amount of body text, of course. If Margaret is ever expanded with at least a regular style and matching italics, I’ll be all over it. See below:
Goddamn it, now it looks like I’m about to rob the grave and desecrate the corpse of a woman called Margaret.
Totally worth it to make my point, of course!
