Free & new & gorgeous: Brandon Nickerson’s Naples

It’s been a while since I last reviewed a typeface, so let’s get into it.

It’s not the first time I’ve reviewed one of Brandon’s fonts. A few months ago I reviewed Nautic Grotesk, which was free at the time (and now costs a measly $7), and came away really impressed with it.

Just like then, Naples is also free for a limited time, so get on it while you still can.

Naples is bold, strong and affable, the kind-hearted giant of sans display fonts. It only comes in one weight, but it contains some rather distinctive alternates and genius ligatures that take advantage of its imposing strokes.

In my opinion, it’s perfect for logos, posters and book covers. Here’s one I made using only Naples, for an imaginary zombie b-movie:

Naples is free for personal and commercial use and it can be downloaded HERE! Check out the rest of the shop while you’re at it, there are some gems in there (my favorites are Califone and Finland)
