Stampa by atipo foundry: Stop The Presses!

Regular reader(s) of the blog may be familiar with the intense feelings of lust I get whenever I see a new typeface released by atipo foundry.

Many of my favorite typefaces of all time (including Calendas Plus, Silka, Salome, and Cassanets, to name but a few) have been designed by them, and Stampa appeared out of nowhere to take its place of honor among them.

Stampa adheres to the standard model of pay-what-you-want-as-long-as-it’s-over-$5 that atipo foundry has been doing forever, and as always, no matter what you decide to pay, you’re getting more than you paid for.

It only comes in one weight and a single style (roman) and it’s an all-caps display sans inspired by a newspaper nameplate, as the foundry themselves put it. And it shows. It has beautiful letterforms reminiscent of mid-century newspaper headlines brought into the 21st century and it’d be perfect for almost any display case scenario.

Should you get it? Hells yeah. This is a stone-cold classic already, and it’s dirt cheap to boot.

You can get Stampa HERE!
