Sunny Bay: an optimistic retro display typeface

Wow, I had almost forgotten about Sunny Bay, which says a lot about the current state of the world.

Sunny Bay is a stunning display font that’s going to make you smile, unless you’re a jaded, cynical bastard with no regard for the well-being of others and a heart of blackened coal wrapped in arsenic. Hey, I’m like that, and it still made me smile.

Sunny Bay only includes one style (Regular) and no italics. However, you get a bunch of swashes you can use by typing underscore, following by a number from 1 to 9.

Here’s the font on one of the very first vector illustrations I ever made. Not something to write home about, but it’s an optimistic note in this maelstrom of death, natural disaster and a Google outage that lasted for ten minutes. Future generations won’t believe we didn’t have YouTube for, like, ten minutes. Oh, and Covid-19. That too.

You can download Sunny Bay HERE for 9 euros. I’ve had bottles of water that cost more than that. Granted, they were 50-liter ones, and they included a FREE visit to the local strip club (an offer I clearly never took up) but still.
