Free for a limited time: Nautic Grotesk

Now here’s a sweet find I came across today on Instagram: Brandon Nickerson’s Nautic Grotesk is free for a limited time and you should totally go and get it.

As the name implies, the font is a sans-serif inspired by nautical themes, which means that if you’re making summer designs for t-shirts, cups and/or genital herpes ointments (hey, you never know) this is the typeface for you.

Nautic comes in one weight (bold) and it has no matching italics. That’s pretty bare-bones but it’s totally free, you ingrate. Let’s see what I can do in five minutes using Nautic and an Unsplash photo of a boat

Not much, as it turns out. This design sucks, clearly. You try creating one of this designs every single day.
